High up in the Cordillera Dariense Mountain Range is the unique Selva Negra Mountain Resort. The mountain cottages of this hotel are located in the forest above the city of Matagalpa on a sprawling gourmet coffee hacienda and private cloud forest reserve. Owned by grandchildren of German immigrants, this precious property name Selva Negra is Spanish for the famous German Black Forest. The coffee hacienda grows 100% organic shade beans and the level of recycling used by the owners is nothing short of admirable. The hotel restaurant which cooks with methane gas from coffee shell compost sits in front of a mountain pond wrapped in lush cloud forest. The private cabins of the hotel are also set in the forest with vibrant gardens and flowers growing out of the Bavarian style roofs. Each cabin has a living room with cable TV and a bedroom and private bath with hot water. The cloud forest reserve has 14 trails that are crossed by howler monkeys, the quetzal and wild cats among many other species. This is not only the best cloud forest lodge in the country, but also one of the most responsible coffee farms in the world. DAY 02: SELVA NEGRA CLOUD FOREST: Breakfast at Hotel and full day to enjoy the tranquility of the hacienda with the option to walk in the pristine cloud forest.

DAY 03: SELVA NEGRA - MANAGUA: Breakfast at Hotel and transfer south to Managua. Selva Negra Cloud Forest and Coffee
